Search Enggine Optimization For Blog

Google and Yahoo are the giants in the search engine domain. There is a certain way these sites go about indexing websites and we will walk you through the process in this two part article.

Search engines decide on which site should be ranked and indexed over others based on the relevant content the sites have. So what is relevant content? The content of the sites must match the content in the headers of the meta-tags of the site for one. Secondly the keywords or tags should also appear in the body of the page that is being ranked.

Then there is the process of counting how popular the sites are among the community they represent. There is one way the search engines do this. They count the number of links that lead to your site. The more the number of sites that link to your site the more the popularity your site is believed to be and the better ranking the search engines give your site.

When the search engines have decided how to tank your site, and this is a fully automated process, they allot you a rank and a certain position in their index. The higher this index the more visible your site will be to people searching for it using the keywords you have optimized the content and meta-tags with.

So, in the ultimate analysis and given the technicalities of search engine optimization and the fact that few people would be able to find your site if it was not indexed by the search engines unless you personally directed them to it, we would be only right to say that your site would be invisible to the internet surfing community without SEO or search engine optimization.
